Stalls to be coordinated within local shopping areas to promote the Department's resources, to recruit for foster carers, and to connect with the local community.
An event for local young people including a speaker about resilience and self care, followed by a sausage sizzle and various activities. Young people will have an opportunity to meet, and ask questions, with local youth services.
A colouring-in competition will be held throughout local kindergartens and pre-primary classes using NAPCAN resources. The finished artwork will be displayed in shop windows in the main street of Albany. Colour-in resources will be distributed in the week commencing 14 August - prizes will be announced on 8 September.
A community BBQ will be hosted in the Esperance town square for local families to connect with the Department, learn about protecting children in the community, and provide an opportunity to recruit foster carers.
A fete will be held on the school oval featuring activities, protective behaviours awareness, arts and crafts, a community BBQ and a chance to interact with the Department and partner agencies.
