National Child Protection Week has been coordinated by NAPCAN, with the support of the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs since 1990. The campaign aims to engage and educate all Australians to understand they have a part to play in keeping our children and young people safe from violence, abuse and neglect.
NAPCAN supports and promotes community-led prevention through strengthening the voice of community (in particular children and young people) in planning, research and evaluation. In coordinating and promoting National Child Protection Week, NAPCAN sees it as a catalyst for community action that continues throughout the year.
